MOPTI – KONNA 1 day
At the beginning of morning you get into the pinasse and we leave the noisy Mopti for a calm trip upstream for about 70 km.
On the water, you will see numerous pirogues of the Bozo and Somono fishermen; they throw their nets or to put their fykes in place. Also the big pinasses, loaded with the goods and with persons, pass.
Along the riversides, you will see numerous birds - herons, storks, ibises, kingfishers, etc - and also many small villages, having each its own characteristic mosque.
You can see women, pounding the sorghum or doing the laundry; children who play in water or help clean out the big aluminium pots.
Of course we stop regularly in small villages like Togonrogo, Nimitogo and Kotaka, to give you the chance to make a walk, to meet the inhabitants, to see how the women smoke the fish etc.
And this gives us the time to buy fresh vegetables, fruits, of chicken or captain (the pole of Nile) for lunch.
In the course of afternoon, we arrive at Konna.
